Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools maintain an excellent educational system.
All schools are fully accredited with a rich tradition of "4-STAR" and school improvement awards. Three public elementary
schools, a middle school, and a high school provide students with a learning

The public elementary schools consist of Fifth Street, Tenth Street and
Ireland Elementary. These schools cover the
grades ranging from kindergarten through 5th grade.
Jasper Middle School is located at 3600 Portersville Road and sits on 4 acres with 8 tennis courts, soccer and football fields, a track and a 500 seat auditorium. Jasper Middle School has been a "4-STAR" school for 17 consecutive years. The students have many opportunities to expand the education with the state of the art technologies in this facility. Jasper High School is located at 1600 St. Charles Street and offers students an opportunity to get a Core 40 or the
Academic Honors Diploma. Students are given a variety of courses to choose from when planning their individual
career goals. Jasper High School extra-curricular program consists of an excellent Fine Arts Department and

Holy Family and Precious Blood Schools are Catholic elementary schools. Holy Family offers schooling from nursery
school through the 8th grade. Precious Blood School provides a Catholic learning environment for Preschool through Grade 5, including all-day kindergarten. By working with the students on a spiritual and academic basis, students have a solid educational foundation. In addition to classroom studies, students attend and participate in mass two times per week. Students can be involved in numerous activities at Precious Blood School. Such activities include academic competitions (Spell Bowl, Math Bowl, Geography Bee), Spirit Team, All Star program, scouting, Destination Imagination, and Circle the State with Song. Vincennes University
Jasper Campus is an
extension of Vincennes
University, a comprehensive
two-year college.
Since opening its doors
in September, 1970,
VUJC has served
thousands of students
from southern Indiana
counties. VUJC campus
is located on SR 162 on
130 acres in a quiet, rustic setting. Over 1,300 full-time and part-time students are enrolled at VUJC each semester. Vincennes
University Jasper Campus offers a wide variety of day and evening classes. Courses are available so that students can take a full
schedule, 12-17 semester hours, in only two or three days a week or evening classes, carry as much as 12 semester hours, while
employed during the day. However, there is not a minimum number of hours that a student must take. The faculty at VUJC are
well-qualified in their respective fields of expertise. A student/professor ratio of 17 to 1 results in small classes, individual attention,
and a sincere concern for each student’s welfare and academic success.
The Alvin C. Ruxer Student Center, a gift of the late benefactor for whom the building is named, includes a gymnasium area, a
walking track, a fitness training room, a food service area, and the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame. The center was opened in the
spring of 1991.
The Arnold F. Habig Center houses an expanded library, expanded science lab facilities, a technology lab, a nursing lab, additional classrooms, and faculty offices. The building, dedicated in 1998, was named after the Jasper businessman who pledged a million dollar endowment to the Jasper campus.
