Jasper is equipped to meet the health care needs of its residents and surrounding areas from minor office visits with the
care of exceptional doctors to major crises that demand hospital care. There are two hospitals in the area:
Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg. Both are modern, state of the art health
care facilities. There are also medical centers providing the community with specialists in an array of health care needs.
Along with the area’s hospitals, Medical of Dubois is available for speedy emergency treatment. Local dentists and
orthodontists offer excellent dental care for the area. Southern Hills Center is staffed by professionals to promote mental

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center offers a full range of acute medical services including cardiac catheterization and angioplasty, inpatient physical rehabilitation, cancer care, and neurology in a 131-bed facility. This Catholic hospital was established in 1951 and is sponsored by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, Inc. As a regional health center with nearly 70 active staff physicians and more than 1,000 employees, the hospital serves Dubois and surrounding counties in southwestern Indiana. Annually, the staff provides medical care for more than 150,000 outpatients and 7,000 inpatients.

Southern Hills Counseling Center in Jasper is located in a spacious modern building on Jasper’s southeast side. The
facility offers privacy and is especially equipped for groups, families, children’s services, medical services, and
substance abuse programs. Southern Hills is staffed by professional psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and
counselors. Services are provided for all age groups. Brief hospital care and day therapy services are available for
residents needing intensive treatment. In addition, Southern Hills staff offer consultation, education and assessment

Nursing and Retirement Homes
Nursing and Retirement Homes in the area provide excellent care to the elderly. Brookside Village, Heritage House, Northwood
Good Samaritan Center, Providence Home, and St. Charles Campus all offer the older adult a place to call home and provide the
care that they need from full-time nursing care to an assisted living environment.
