Jasper Chamber of Commerce Online Privacy Policy General Statement of Privacy The Jasper Chamber of Commerce (herein after referred to as “Chamber”) respects the privacy and confidentiality of its members who are listed on its web site located at www.jasperin.org. This online privacy statement is to inform you how the Chamber gathers and uses personal and non-personal information when you visit our web site. The Privacy Policy is subject to change at the discretion of the Chamber. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be promptly posted by the Chamber with revised effective date(s) that reflect such changes. The Effective Date of this Privacy Policy is December 27, 2007. Personally Identifiable Information The Chamber does not collect Personally Identifiable Information about you on the Chamber web site without your knowledge or action. The information provided on membership applications is used as the primary source for the business information displayed on the Chamber’s web site. Only authorized representatives of each business may make any changes. Updates are made as the Members provide changes. Use of Personally Identifiable Information It is the policy of the Chamber not to sell, share, transfer, or rent to third parties any Personally Identifiable Information you provide to the Chamber through the use of the Chamber web site without your written consent except as required by operation of the law or in compliance with legal authorities. Non-Personally Identifiable Information Non-Personally Identifiable Information includes, but is not limited to, information the Chamber automatically collects on your use and/or actions on our web site (e.g., user traffic patterns, page views on the web site, click-through rates, search terms that users enter into our search utility). In addition, when a visitor arrives at our site, we collect the IP address, operation system, and browser software used. Non-Personally Identifiable Information helps the Chamber determine how the jasperin.org web site is being used, helps identify popular areas of the web site, and helps determine the effectiveness of our promotional activities regarding the web site. As certain Non-Personally Identifiable Information may be of a sensitive nature to users, such information shall, when coupled with any of your Personally Identifiable Information, itself be deemed to be Personally Identifiable Information and treated as such by the Chamber. Security All information displayed on our web site is securely stored within the Chamber’s controlled database. The database is stored on a server secured behind a firewall; access to this server is password protected and limited to only those employees with a need to review and update such information. Credit Card Information When you send credit card information the session is encrypted between your computer and our server. Other information you send to this site, including e-mail messages, will not be encrypted unless we advise you otherwise. Notification of Changes As noted above, if the Chamber decides to change its Privacy Policy, it will post those changes to this page with a revised effective date so that users are always aware of our current privacy policies. The Chamber will always use the information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected. Membership constitutes your acceptance of our then-current Private Policy.
